I guess Peter Pan was right. Who wants to be a grown-up anyway? Sure, you don’t live with your parents anymore. No one tells you when to go to bed, what to eat, what you can’t wear, or demands to know your every move. But what do you get in return? Bills, a job if you can find one, a boss who criticizes you (but not because he or she loves you), laundry, and the endless other things that fall under what can only be defined as “responsibility”. If one were honest, aren’t there days in your life that you long to go back to being a teenager, living at home. The truth is, most of us couldn’t wait to grow up and leave home, and most of us never appreciated what we had until it was gone. One day you wake up and realize that indeed you are an adult, and you wished you had taken more time to savor the good life where someone else had to figure out how to pay the mortgage payment.
